How do I help you and your child during the therapy sessions?
As a parent, do you often worry about your child’s future?
Does your child talk back to you?
Do you feel that your child is not listening to you? Are you facing problems where your child is throwing tantrums?
Is your child having academic difficulties as a result of stress or a lack of attention? Are you also anxious, upset, and angry about the same?
Do you have concerns about your child's physical and emotional well-being?
Have you noticed your child lying to you?
At times, do you feel overwhelmed as to how you would handle issues that your child is facing?
Is your child spending too much time on the phone and not talking enough at home?
I've been working with high school children and teenagers for the past eight years. This age group is going through a difficult time in their lives and is being overwhelmed with information overload as a result of their exposure to cell phones, social media, and numerous forms of information. They can do the same with the click of a button.
"We work together": You, Me, and Your Child.

- Your youngster will learn healthy ways to deal with stress rather than lashing out or withdrawing.
- During the parent sessions, I would provide support and resources to help you better connect with your child and enjoy each other’s company.
- We will collaborate to develop a strategy to help your child achieve more success at home, school, and with their peers.
- My approach to therapy is based on a holistic approach in which I consider the entire family. We will not only work towards making positive changes as a team, but also in how you communicate and connect with others around you.

What does it mean to be mindful as a parent?
Let us understand the role of mindfulness when you are approaching your kids.
Regulating Yourself entails first understanding your emotions and feelings, which will help you deal with any overwhelming emotions you may be experiencing as a parent.
This will have a positive impact and help your child grow into a healthy adult who is able to express their needs and emotions. It is important to note that, as a parent, you are a role model for your child.
Stopping or avoiding your emotions, on the other hand, DOES NOT WORK!
Repressing any kind of unhealthy emotion would lead to another unhealthy emotion and not help you handle the situations that you might be facing.
How would you benefit when you sign up for Mindful parenting sessions?
Mindful parenting will help you to:
- Become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
- Increase your awareness of and responsiveness to your child’s thoughts, feelings, and needs.
- Become better at regulating your emotions.
- Improve your ability to prioritize your needs and work toward self-care practices.
- Learn to prioritize your own needs and strike a balance between self-care and the child’s academics and extracurricular activities.
This is what I can offer when you choose to sign up for the Mindful parenting sessions
- Reflect: I will help you reflect on the overwhelming emotions you are going through, due to various reasons.
- Understand: Together, we will understand that acting out in certain unhealthy ways could lead your child to lie, become quiet, stop sharing, burst into a fit of anger, answer back, or create a scene in front of other people. This does not mean there is something wrong with the child. It means the child is seeking help and is not able to assert themselves or open up in a healthy way.
- Empathise: These moments often occur when you are tired, stressed, or overwhelmed. You may blame yourself and feel guilty about certain aspects. There could be certain thoughts like, “Is there something wrong with my parenting?” Am I a bad parent, and so on.During the sessions, I would hold space for your thoughts, feelings, and emotions and help you deal with your emotions in a healthy way.
- Act: I will introduce emotional intelligence in the sessions. We would discuss that children experience big emotions in small bodies, often leading to eruptions when the emotions get to be too much to handle.
