Welcome on your Therapy Journey :

Seeking therapy can be challenging, but you have shown courage and determination by reaching out for support. Congratulations on taking the first step towards prioritising your mental well-being.

In my therapy sessions, you will find a welcoming and accepting space where you can explore your emotions and thoughts without fear of judgement.

Together, we will collaboratively set achievable goals and work towards personal growth and healing. My ultimate objective for my clients is to empower them to achieve greater emotional well-being, leading to a more fulfilling life. We will work together to develop personalised strategies tailored to your unique needs, helping you overcome any obstacles you may face.

Let’s embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth together.

Remember, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao Tzu.

Therapy Philosophy:

As a therapist, my philosophy is centred around promoting objective thinking and reasoning with mindfulness and compassion.

I follow these principles which are part of my therapeutic practice:

  • I prioritise objective thinking and reasoning with mindfulness and compassion in my therapy practice.
  • Teaching emotional responsibility, self-care, and healthy self-talk are important aspects of my therapy practice.
  • Being able to see more options and alternatives to situations leads to feeling happier and lighter.
  • During difficult life events, acknowledging, feeling, and working on emotions can help one cope more effectively.
  • Unchecked self-talk can lead to rigid morality and judgments; I help clients practise unbiased, gentle self-talk to build a healthy relationship with themselves and others.
  • Understanding the difference between healthy and unhealthy negative emotions is beneficial for leading a disturbance-free life.
  • Developing unconditional self-acceptance is essential for happiness, and I can help clients achieve this in relation to themselves, others, and life.
  • Learning life skills such as assertiveness, decision-making, and conflict resolution is crucial for developing healthy boundaries and maintaining a balanced social life.
  • People are fallible human beings with limitations, capable of making mistakes; there are no inherently “good” or “bad” people.
  • Self-rating is unhealthy, while rating one’s behaviour is a healthy practice for self-improvement, avoiding self-labelling and accepting others’ labels.

Therapy Approach:

  1. Holistic Treatment: Embracing your personal growth and stability is at the core of my therapeutic approach. I believe in providing holistic counselling that considers your overall well-being.
  2. Mindfulness: Mindfulness is an integral aspect of my therapy practice. Through active listening and empathetic understanding, I create a safe and supportive space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions.
  3. Therapeutic Modalities: In my therapy sessions, I use different approaches like Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Projective Cards, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Guided Visualization. These methods help us identify your goals for therapy and work together to achieve them. They provide us with useful tools to understand your needs and develop strategies to overcome challenges and promote your personal growth.
  4. Self-Awareness: Self-awareness skills form an important base for intuition and the decision-making process. During the therapy sessions, we would be working towards important aspects of emotional intelligence and applying them in practical life situations.

 5. Self-Care: Self Care includes mindful activities that a person can engage on a regular basis, to take care of personal needs and well-being. During the therapy sessions we will work towards a self-care plan and ways to practise it in your daily life.

Therapeutic Relationship:

Building a successful therapeutic relationship requires certain elements.

  1. Teamwork: In our therapy sessions, you play an active role as a collaborator. We will work together towards effective change and discuss the importance of your active participation in the therapeutic process.
  2. Goal-Setting: Initially, we will establish goals that are meaningful to you. As we progress, we can adapt and refine these goals to ensure our work aligns with your evolving needs.
  3. Follow-Up: After each session, we will agree on specific homework activities to reinforce the progress made during our time together.
  4. Therapeutic Bonding: Trust and connection are essential for the healing process. I am committed to creating a safe, caring, and nonjudgmental environment where you can freely express yourself and feel supported.

Therapy Atmosphere:

  1. A Circle of Trust: I provide a safe and welcoming space where you can share your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgement.
  2. Safe and Open Space for Sharing: Our sessions offer a confidential and open atmosphere for you to express yourself freely.
  3. Empathetic Understanding and Care: I strive to understand your experiences and emotions with empathy and compassion.
  4. Unconditional Positive Regard: You will be accepted and respected unconditionally throughout our therapeutic journey.

Therapy Outcomes:

  • Creative Self-Expression of Healthy emotional release of disturbing thoughts and emotions.
  • Get unstuck with repeated, self-defeating thoughts to gain a new perspective to achieve your goals.
  • Learning to create healthy boundaries for yourself without feeling guilty or ashamed.
  • Assertiveness: Learning to say NO when you need to.
  • Higher Self-Awareness of thoughts, emotions and behaviour.

Points to Remember:

  • Therapy is a commitment you make to yourself for personal growth and self-work.
  • It is important to attend your scheduled sessions consistently.
  • When you start seeing progress after a few therapy sessions, you may feel the urge to skip sessions or discontinue prematurely. However, I will encourage you to stay committed and complete the planned sessions. This will provide the most meaningful and transformative therapeutic experience.
